    Job Description

    Job Summary:

    Serves as a hospitality escort and van driver for special events and day trips for the Senior Center. Hours and days of work will vary according to schedule needs. The salary range for this position is $14.81- $18.36 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. This opportunity will remain open until filled.

    Essential Functions:
    • Meet with Recreation Coordinator to review and understand the established itineraries for the day trips or special events.
    • Provides guest services to seniors as a hospitality escort providing instruction and guidance to guests.
    • Some trips require operating a motor vehicle including an 15-passenger van.
    • Provides on-site supervision for the day; assists with the miscellaneous duties related to the day trips or other special events.

    Other Job Functions:
    • May assist with special events.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:
    • High School graduate or GED required.
    • Course work in recreation, education or related field preferred.
    • Six (6) months previous experience working with older adults preferred.

    Certifications:
    • Must possess or be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certifications within 60 days of hire.
    • Must possess a valid driver's license.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with a diverse group of people, co-workers, and the general public.

    Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
    • Frequent l ight to moderate physical effort that includes frequent standing or walking or maintaining arms and hands in the same position for repetitive tasks. Frequently works with light objects and light hand tools.
    • Occasional e xposure to hazards that are predictable or well protected against.
    • Occasional e xposure to heat and noise along with working outside in the elements.
