    Job Description

    Job Summary

    Under the direction of the Associate Vice President for Administration and Engagement, the Senior Director of CRM Operations is responsible for the external database of record - this includes conversion to new systems, integration with other software platforms, and ongoing system improvements to optimize the database for development and engagement purposes. The Senior Director of CRM Operations also is responsible for the Data and Systems team in UDAE, ensuring data management and confidentiality.

    Department Summary

    The role of the University Development and Alumni Engagement (UDAE) Division is to foster strong relationships with external partners while enhancing support for Cal Poly. University Development and Alumni Engagement does this by implementing an overall advancement program that includes alumni and parent engagement, community outreach, coordinated fundraising efforts, donor relations, gift processing, trust and endowment management, training and systems support for the donor database, and Cal Poly Foundation support and administration.

    Key Qualifications
    • Serve as the manager for the division’s CRM conversion, integration, and on-going system improvements to optimize our external database of record. Manage the CRM systems’ ongoing use and integration with other platforms.
    • Manage third party vendor and consultant partnerships with CRM platform and integration software managed by UDAE.
    • Serve as a liaison with ITS for data and system integration, leveraging various software, and integrating to other divisions across campus.
    • Lead the UDAE Data Governance Council to develop and implement best practices for external constituent data capturing and usage.

    Education and Experience
    • A Bachelor’s degree is required in a related field and six years of progressively responsible management experience, with at least three years of aggregate experience in philanthropic development software systems, preferably in a University setting.
    • Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

    Salary and Benefits

    The anticipated hiring range for this role is $135,000 - $175,000 per year. Note that the offer is calculated based on the background and relevant years of experience of the individual selected.

    Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Anticipated Hiring Range referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Classification Range may be broader than what the University anticipates paying for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
