The Senior ER Consultant provides expert-level consultation and guidance on disciplinary actions, grievances, performance management, conflict resolution, ADA, unemployment, County policies, and state and federal employment laws.
The Consultant’s day includes:
- Proactively identifying and analyzing associated risks involved in specific employment situations and providing collaborative recommendations to identify risk/reward strategies
- Conducting Title VII related investigations
- Analyzing ER data, performing compliance risk assessments, and identifying and recommending new and creative solutions

The Basics (Required Education and Experience) - Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Public Administration, Business Administration or related field
- Four years of experience in human resources administration
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted
- Please include ALL prior work experience on your application and resume.
Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience) - Four or more years of professional experience in an employee relations role
- Relevant certifications such as PHR or SPHR
- Experience in employee relations within local or state government
- Experience in employee relations within a large organization
How Will We Know You're 'The One'? - Excellent 'people' skills: able to build strong professional relationships; able to navigate and discuss difficult issues; able to explain complex policies in an easy-to-understand way
- Experience consulting with managers and employees on issues related to performance and employee relations
- A desire to create and foster organizational change
