    Job Announcement

    The City of Chandler Public Works & Utilities Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Regulatory Affairs Senior Analyst for Water Quality. The position is scheduled to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the opportunity for an alternative schedule after probation.

    Who we are
    The City of Chandler is one of the very few cities in Arizona that has received and sustained accreditation by the American Public Works Association. The Water Division is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the City's water treatment plant, 32 water wells, and 19 booster station facilities. In addition, the City of Chandler shares a water treatment plant with the Town of Gilbert, Santan Vista Water Treatment Plant (SVWTP). The Utility also operates wastewater and reclaimed water infrastructure, including industrial wastewater/ brine reduction and three wastewater facilities. The city treats over 64 million gallons of fresh water and over 30 million gallons of wastewater per day to class A+ reclaimed water to meet irrigation and industrial demands. Our water is received from four primary water sources: Salt River, Verde River, Colorado River, and groundwater supplied by our extensive well field facilities. Chandler also uses advanced treatment processes to recycle over 7 million gallons of industrial wastewater and return it back to industrial reuse. Service is provided to the City of Chandler residential, commercial, and industrial users by a network of 1,224 miles of active water mains, 942 miles of active sewer mains, and 92 miles of reclaimed water mains.

    Who we are looking for
    Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are looking for someone to provide high-level expertise in technical support and development of process control procedures to increase the efficiency of water and wastewater treatment plants and distribution system operations. Qualified candidates will have experience with testing and sampling to assist with special projects for operational-based improvements of treatment plants and distribution systems. The Regulatory Affairs Senior Analyst will manage data and processes related to compliance and noncompliance. Data analysis and presentation of findings to operations, maintenance, and regulatory teams is a crucial component of this position.     Minimum qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Microbiology, Public Health or a related field; and
    • Four years of experience in municipal water operation, water system engineering, water chemistry or water and wastewater regulatory compliance; and
    • An ADEQ Grade 1 Water/Wastewater Treatment Operator Certification upon hire or promotion; and
    • An ADEQ Grade 2 Water/Wastewater Treatment Certification within one (1) year of hire or promotion; and
    • A valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record; or

    Desired qualifications
    • Proficient to advanced level experience using Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

    This is a regular full-time position, subject to a 6-month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available.

    The City of Chandler will conduct a pre-employment drug and alcohol test, a driving record check, and a reference check as a condition of employment.
