    Two full-time positions available with the City Auditor's Office located at 414 E 12th St.
    Salary Range: $6,489-$9,734/month
    Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00a.m.-5:00p.m.

    Responsibilities

    Looking for an opportunity to help make a difference in local government? The Kansas City, Missouri city auditor is looking for an audit manager to join our award winning office. The city auditor reports directly to the city council and is independent of city management. The City Auditor's Office provides independent, objective performance audits to elected officials, the public, and city management.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Manages multiple projects and supervising professional audit staff.
    • Supervises audit planning, reviewing the work of audit staff, and developing well written audit reports.
    • The audit manager supports the office and city auditor as part of the office's executive team by training/mentoring audit staff, preparing and conducting performance appraisals of audit staff, and assisting with the development of the annual audit plan.


    Qualifications

    Requires an accredited Bachelors degree supplemented by the completion of an advanced degree or master's degree in public administration, business administration, accounting, information systems, social sciences, statistics, law or a related field and 4 years professional experience in auditing, program evaluation, public or business administration or a related field. Such experience is to be of a progressively responsible nature and include 2 years at the level of Senior Auditor.

    Positions requiring a high school diploma/GED certificate must be obtained from a school/program accredited by the Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.

    The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
    For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
    Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.

    If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
