We are seeking
Child Protective Services - Social Workers (In-Home) to join a team of dedicated professionals, serving the population in our West Zone. These positions provide and coordinate in-home services for children and their families, who have been found in need of services or substantiated for abuse, neglect and/or dependency.
Primary duties include: - Conducting home visits to ensure safety
- Meeting with the parents to create In-home Service Plans/Agreements (IHSA)
- Assessing risk throughout the life of a case, by assisting parents with completing goals on their case plans, and referring them for services to address the safety needs identified
- Holding Child and Family Team (CFT) meetings when needed to discuss and create safe plans of care (IHSA) and/or if there is a need to petition for custody
- Testifying in court and writing court reports
- Documenting within seven days of each contact and maintaining tracking forms related to activities pertaining to each case

The Basics (Required Education and Experience) - Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field
- Three years of job-related experience
- Completion of the NC Child Welfare Education Collaborative (CWEC) traineeship can be substituted for 1 year of experience
- Valid Driver's License and "safe" driving record
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience) - Child Welfare experience to include home visits to clients
- Experience working within the community
- Experience providing services to families who have issues regarding appropriate parenting
- MSW or equivalent, such as an MS in Counseling
