Job Location: This position will be in St. Louis, MO.
Why is the work you do in this position important to Missouri? The Division of Credit Unions is responsible for the chartering, oversight, and regulation of credit unions in the State of Missouri. Your contributions to this office will help ensure the preservation of integrity and safety of the credit union industry which provides high quality financial products and services to Missouri consumers.
- Review the operation of state-chartered credit unions to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
- Navigate and understand credit union related laws and regulations.
- Conduct examinations for unsafe and unsound banking practices and assess the adequacy of internal controls.
- Responsible for determining the financial condition of credit unions.
- Review and evaluate policies and procedures.
- Conduct financial analysis of credit unions.
- Evaluate loan programs for regulatory compliance as well as safety and soundness.
- Perform other related work as assigned.
- Occasional overnight travel is required.
Minimum Qualifications - A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics or a closely related field from an accredited college or university. Related work experience can substitute for education requirement.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to demonstrate regular and predictable attendance.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications - Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate and work well in a team environment as well as independently.
- Strong time management skills to ensure effective use of time in a hybrid/remote work schedule.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
- Basic knowledge of credit union operations, general accounting and financial analysis.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, and prepare concise written reports.
