If so, we invite you to apply for the Senior Business Analyst position within the Information Technology Services Division - Department of Labor and Industrial Relations (ITSD-DOLIR) team. This professional position is accountable for determining business needs and translating them into functional specifications; defines systems scope, objectives, and functionality based on user input and understanding of business processes; provides the basis for the design or modification of information systems through business analysis and documents requirements; is typically assigned work on more complex, larger, and higher impact/risk projects/systems; and will typically design/devise more optimal systems and processes based on broader experience. This position is with the Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division (ITSD), supporting the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations (DOLIR).

    This position is with the Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division (OA-ITSD) Business Analysis Services team.

    • Assist the supervisor when applicable.
    • Mentor, coach, and promote skill development and best practices across BA teams.
    • Serve as a liaison between business clients, developers, and vendors.
    • Requirements gathering and elicitation.
    • Facilitate process mapping sessions.
    • Document current and future process flows.
    • Interpret functionality requirements.
    • Create Technical Specification documentation.
    • Develop test scripts.
    • Assist with QA testing.
    • Provide user acceptance testing guidance.
    • Work collaboratively with project management staff.
    • Actively participate in project teams.
    • Facilitate the delivery of services and continue to improve.


    • Ability to coach, mentor, and professionally develop team members.
    • Ability to create and understand process diagrams, flowcharts, and business models.
    • Ability to identify and define the scope, objectives, and functionality of a project.
    • Ability to translate technical terminology into easy-to-understand terms.
    • Skill in outlining project scope, objectives, and functionality.
    • Skill in translating business processes into information technology requirements.
    • Ability to assess situations, including risks and benefits, receive feedback from stakeholders, and select a course of action.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Experience as a Business Analyst preferred.

    • Successful background check results are required for employment in this position. This may include background checks involving a candidate’s name and/or fingerprints and other screenings as needed for the specific position.
