    Job Summary

    Under the direction of the Dean, serves as the Administrative Services Manager for the College of Business (COB). Augments the college's administrative and organizational structure by performing several high-level duties in fiscal management and staff and academic personnel. Exercises significant judgment in the development and implementation of administrative policies and procedures.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Fiscal Responsibilities: Responsible for the development and implementation of all fiscal policies and procedures in COB and university. Serves and the resource person for the department chairs and staff on fiscal management and interpretation of fiscal policies and procedures.
    • Human Resource Management Responsibilities: Responsible for staff recruitment, hiring, training, and performance evaluation processes.
    • Project Management - Facilities and Instructional Technology. Overseas the development and maintenance of internal guidelines related to COB facilities, and procedures for usage, scheduling, and operation of COB Facilities, including capital outlay, equipment, and special projects as needed.


    Knowledge Skills and Abilities

    Demonstrated knowledge and experience in analyzing financial, human resources and enrollment information from various sources, interpreting that information, making recommendations based on that information and implementing necessary changes. Knowledge of financial operating procedures related to budget, accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, travel, facility management, telecommunications, trust, course fees, hospitality and gift policies, grants, self-support programs, external funds and reimbursement to State funds. Knowledge of collective bargaining contracts and policies and ability to advise Dean accordingly. Ability to use financial software to create complex spreadsheets, perform detailed analysis, research and evaluation, prepare financial reports for dean, associate deans, chairs/directors, and administrators in the Provost's Office.

    Ability to maintain good working relationships with campus community. Ability to take initiative and independently plan, organize, coordinate, and work in high-paced office with accurate results. Ability to work cooperatively with all faculty, chairs/director, staff and students and promote activities to align with student success initiatives. Ability to communicate financial information in an understandable format aimed at a variety of different audiences. Includes the ability to prepare written and/or oral financial reports to all levels within the college. Good understanding of General Accounting principles with the emphasis primarily in budget control as well as associated financial management principles, such as purchasing and accounts payable.

    Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."

    Education and Experience

    • Equivalent to a bachelor's degree and 5 years required. Master’s degree preferred.
    • Five years of working experience with budgets, financial and position analysis required in developing budgets, formulating complex spreadsheets, researching and analyzing data, and problem solving.
    • Three years of HR experience in faculty workload, faculty assigned time, lecturer contracts, lecturer entitlement, additional employment, tenure-track faculty and staff recruitment, staff training and relationships, and student worker hiring including graduate assistants, instructional student assistants, and federal work study students.
    • Experience in campus procurement, travel, accounts payable, and accounts receivable policies and procedures.
    • Experience in degree program budget development and revenue analysis.
    • Enrollment management experience preferred.


    Physical Summary

    Sedentary work - Involves mainly sitting. Walking and standing are minimal. Lifting is limited to lightweight objects. (10 pounds or less).

    Compensation

    CSU MPP Compensation Summary Range: The MPP Comp Summary Range for this position is $8,339 - $12,509 per month.

    Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

    Additional Information
