Job Location: Northwest District Office The Missouri Department of Transportation is currently seeking a Design-Build Project Director for the development and administration of the I-229 Design-Build Project. The project is the reconstruction of the I-229 double-decker bridge in Buchanan County with a construction budget of $129.5 Million.
The Northwest I-229 Project Director will be the lead in the procurement and administration of the design and construction contract. Design-Build is a partnership with the industry to deliver the project goals by managing and allocating risks appropriately. Other duties to expect are developing the MoDOT Team, supervising preparation of project documentation; provide technical expertise and design/constructability input; and resolving project issues as they arise. The Northwest I-229 Project Director has direct responsibility for the overall success of the project and supervises staff assigned to the MoDOT Project Team along with owner engineer consultant activities.
The I-229 Design Build project has a tentative schedule to begin preliminary work in 2025 with construction to begin in fiscal year 2028.
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university curriculum.
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer in the State of Missouri.
- Six years of progressive experience in engineering positions, including demonstrated ability to manage teams, multiple projects, and focus on several functional areas of engineering.
- Submission of supporting letter detailing your work history related to:
- Development of projects.
- Public involvement.
- Leadership qualities.
- Experience with innovative contracting.
