Job Location: This position will be located at 912 Wildwood Drive, Jefferson City, Missouri. (After a successful on-site training period of up to 3 months, this position is eligible for remote work.)
Why you’ll love this position:Help the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services protect health and keep people safe! The Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR) provides a background screening service to employers and families hiring workers to care for children, seniors, or disabled persons. Employers and families may contact the FCSR using a toll-free call center. The FCSR is responsible for registering all child care, elder care, and personal care workers in the state.
- Staff the toll-free call center, assisting callers in obtaining background screening information. This includes providing the results of the background screening to the caller on the telephone, answering questions, and providing referrals as appropriate.
- Communicate with employers and caregivers regarding the requirements and role of the FCSR and how to obtain information from other units within the Department or other state agencies in order to comply with regulatory requirements.
- Provide referral resources to callers when needed, such as for locating a caregiver or asking questions about licensing requirements.
- Review and process registration and background screening requests submitted to the FCSR, including verification that all necessary information has been received per unit policies and procedures. When processing paper forms or taking background screening requests by telephone, accurately enter information into the Background Screening and Employment Eligibility System (BSEES).
- Assist with the development of policies and procedures, database testing, staff training or other special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: - A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution OR four or more years of experience in public health, mental health, education, social services, public or business administration, health care, and/or health care administration. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
- The ideal candidate will possess or quickly gain knowledge of statutes and regulations related to the FCSR, the Good Cause Waiver program, and programs focused on the care of children, seniors or disabled persons.
- The ideal candidate will operate in a fast-paced, confidential environment requiring high focus, attention to detail with a high level of accuracy, and the ability to multi-task using various computer software programs.
- You will be working in a multi-team member environment which requires emotional intelligence, experience in exercising autonomy, and the ability to use analytical thinking skills and requires a professional demeanor when interacting with customers.
- Prior call center experience may be preferred as the ideal candidate will professionally represent the department by effectively communicating with internal and external customers in the FCSR call center.
- The ability to train, in office, in Jefferson City, Missouri, for a period of up to 3 months.
