    Performs professional work developing, promoting, and administering neighborhood outreach programs. Primary duties include developing, coordinating, planning, and evaluating various neighborhood outreach programs; providing technical assistance to neighborhood leaders and volunteers in the creation, development, operation, and management of neighborhood associations; conducting training and workshops; serving as a City of Orlando representative to various neighborhoods; and functioning as a liaison between various City departments and the neighborhoods and/or citizens. Work requires independent judgment, extensive knowledge of City codes and policies, and strong communication skills. Work is performed under the supervision of the Neighborhood Outreach Supervisor and requires office and field work. Performance is reviewed through discussions and evaluations of results achieved.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Bachelor's Degree in Planning, Public Administration, Public Relations, or related field and two to three (2-3) years experience developing and administering community outreach programs; or an equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience. A valid Florida Driver's License is required. Must pass police background investigation. Polygraph required with the exception of current OPD employees.

    Preferred Skill: Bilingual in English & Spanish .

    If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
    • Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
    • Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
    • Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
    • Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
