County of Fresno invites applications for the position of
Account Clerk I. Incumbents typically maintain and process departmental appropriation, expenditure, and revenue records. In addition to bookkeeping functions, incumbents may be called upon to complete general clerical tasks.
The current vacancies exist within the
Auditor-Controller/Treasurer-Tax Collector's Office and the
Assessor-Recorder's Office . However, the eligible list established from this recruitment may be used to fill vacancies in other County departments as they occur.

Minimum QualificationsApplicants must qualify under one (1) of the options listed below:
OPTION 1 : Experience : One (1) year of full-time, paid work experience which involved reviewing financial records or processing financial transactions.
OPTION 2 : Education : Completion of fifteen (15) semester units of coursework that is acceptable within the United States’ accredited college or university system.
OPTION 3 : Certification : Possession of a certificate of completion from an accounting, account clerk, bookkeeping, or closely related program that is acceptable within the United States accredited college or university system.
In addition to the options listed above, the following may be required: License : Possession of a valid Class “C” driver’s license, or equivalent, may be required.
Note : Incumbents may be required to obtain and maintain Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Department of Justice clearance as a condition of employment.
As a condition of employment, some departments may require candidates to undergo and pass a background investigation and/or polygraph examination. These investigations include employment/credit histories, verification of education, arrest/criminal records, drug/alcohol use, and personal conduct. SELECTION PROCESS:Pursuant to Fresno County Personnel Rule 4 - Selection Process, applicants may be required to complete an examination process and successful candidates will be placed on an employment list effective for a minimum of 3 months and certified in final rank order as vacancies occur.
Please Note: - The eligible list for this recruitment may be extended up to 12 months, and may be used to fill both extra-help and permanently allocated positions.
- Individuals selected for extra-help appointment may be transitioned to a permanently allocated position at a later date as authorized by the Fresno County Personnel Rules.
