HIRING SALARY: $60,840 - $68,515 (Estimated Annual Salary)OPEN UNTIL FILLED, APPLICATION REVIEW BEGINS IMMEDIATELYDuties and ResponsibilitiesThe duties of this position are performed in both an office and field environment, which include but are not limited to: planning/scheduling/monitoring ground crew operations, working with citizens to answer concerns, monitoring data entries in Field Seeker software, lead crews in source reduction efforts, obtain permission for new treatment areas, prioritizing and assisting with ground larviciding, conduct roadside ditch and storm drain treatment, conducting maintenance on equipment during the season and refurbishment in the offseason, maintain path access to treatment sites, coordinate with stormwater to eliminate mosquito source when applicable, Leading/supervising/training assigned crew members to include hiring, completing performance evaluations, counseling, and disciplinary actions; supervising usage, care of equipment, and tools; maintaining and ordering materials and supplies; ensuring that all administrative paperwork is filled out and submitted in a timely manner; and performing other directly related duties consistent with the role and function of the classification. May be designated to report to work during hazardous weather or emergency conditions.
Minimum QualificationsPosition requires a high school diploma (or GED) supplemented by five (5) years or more of supervisory level experience and/or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training. A category 8 pesticide license is required at the time of employment. Knowledge of mosquito biology is also preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of a variety of hand and power tools needed to clear pathways including, but not limited to, lawn mower, weed eater, bush axe, etc. The ability to safely operate small equipment including XUV Gator and power sprayer. The ability to work with people to resolve complaints. Computer knowledge and experience working with iPads are required. Must have valid SC Driver's License and clean driving record.
