What you’ll do: • Ensuring employee has sufficient leave balances for leave usage reported and adjusting per DSS leave policy if necessary in SAM II and in the Leave Track system.
• Verify that reported leave usage follows DSS leave policies.
• Calculating and posting leave usage and overtime hours earned based on policy.
• Reconciling employee's leave balances for accuracy.
• Reviewing Suspense files in Leave Track and SAM II for pending leave records or rejected documents and contacting timekeeper or correcting leave documents.
• Assisting timekeepers and employees with leave records.
• Auditing certain leave entries such as Leave With Pay or Worker's Compensation.
• Process payroll deductions for DSS employees in SAM II payroll system.
• Enter into SEBES system new employee information for benefits. Review to ensure employees have completed benefits within allotted period.
• Submit termination notices or leave of absences notices to MOSERS and MCHCP so employees’ records are updated and information for retention of benefits is sent to employees in a timely manner.
• Process annual leave and compensatory payouts to employees transferring or terminating from the department using the appropriate leave codes.
Minimum Qualifications:1-3 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
Preferred Qualifications: - Knowledge of accounting procedures and office methods and practices. Ability to make mathematic calculations. Ability to meet deadlines. Ability to review financial documents for accuracy with attention to details. Ability to maintain automated and manual financial records. As well as knowledge of basic research methods related to financial transactions. Ability to identify and resolve transactional issues.
