    Job Summary

    Performs limited supervisory and semi-skilled work involving: the maintenance of grounds, flowers and plants, athletic fields, and landscaped areas; and/or general maintenance of community recreation facilities. Employees assigned to this classification perform a variety of tasks involving above-average physical effort, and operation of power tools and equipment requiring some manipulative skills and the ability to work without frequent supervision. Work is usually performed under moderate supervision of a crew leader or a field supervisor and is reviewed while in progress and upon completion through direct observation, meetings, and review of work orders to ensure accuracy and completeness.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    High school diploma/GED; two (2) years of experience in horticulture required; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Valid Florida Driver's License required .

    If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
    • Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
    • Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
    • Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
    • Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
