Project and Facilities Management Department is recruiting for
Lead Custodians who oversee the performance of custodial duties, while maintaining buildings and surroundings in a clean, orderly, and safe condition. Positions in this class are characterized by their responsibility to provide lead direction to Custodians and/or to contract service providers.
Responsibilities include assigning, inspecting work, and assisting with site inspections; completing and submitting various reports; assisting in scheduling and work performance reviews; ordering supplies; cleaning restrooms, offices, fixtures, and work areas; cleaning, sweeping, mopping vacuuming, stripping, waxing, and buffing floors; dusting, polishing, and cleaning furniture, windows, blinds, and mirrors; and using appropriate cleaning chemicals, solutions, and equipment to perform these and other custodial tasks.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Pre-Employment Process: Applicants must pass a background investigation, which includes fingerprinting, work history & education check, as well as a job-related physical exam and drug screening.
Physical: This job requires frequent lifting and carrying items weighing 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds, and the ability to move 80-pound containers.
Travel: Travel throughout the County may be required. Employees will be required to make provision for transportation. A valid California Class C driver's license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced and maintained for the individual providing the transportation.
Schedule: Some positions require a work schedule of 3:00 AM to 1:30 PM or 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
Minimum Requirements REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Eighteen (18) months of full-time professional experience with the primary responsibility of performing qualified custodial services, including the use of machines to strip, wax, and buff floors at a school, hospital, office building, detention facility and/or large workshop environment.
