Job Summary: Under the general direction of the Economic Development Director, performs a variety of professional administrative, analysis, and programmatic duties. Requires extensive knowledge of administrative policies, procedures and operations. Represents the face of the department during 8am-5pm work hours.
The salary range for this position is
$31.84- $44.58 per hour with a hiring range of
$31.84 - $38.21, depending on qualifications and experience.

Essential Functions: - Assist in implementing departmental goals, policies and procedures, monitor effectiveness and make revisions and recommendations.
- Assist with special projects involving research, gathering and compiling data, preparing reports, information and summarizing results.
- Assist with calendar management. Requires frequent and ongoing coordination with staff and key stakeholders.
- Assist with preparation of agenda items for City Council and related memorandums. Ensures all City Council related materials are submitted.
- Manage travel arrangements and purchases.
- Provide front line response to public, staff and stakeholders.
- Maintain confidential records, correspondence and information. Responsible to protect and maintain confidentiality of information.
- Participate in meetings and prepare agendas and minutes.
- Process, track and manage contracts, including requests for proposals, business assistant/incentive agreements, sponsorship and grant agreements.
- Process invoices, purchase orders, purchase card transactions, vendor setups and payroll.
- Work closely with Director to manage department budget, reporting, year end wrap up, re-appropriation and annual budget cycle inputs.
- Work closely with Director to oversee the economic incentive fund to include ongoing reconciliation and ad hoc reports.
- Prepare annual budget narratives.
- Respond to Colorado Open Records Act requests and maintains department record retention.
Other Job Functions: - Serve as Department liaison to the City’s Safety Committee.
- Coordinate cross departmentally on staff projects.
- Participate on ad hoc internal committees.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Education: - High School graduate or GED required.
Experience: - 3 years progressively responsible administrative support experience.
- Proficiency with software, systems and computers required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of office procedures including accounting, bookkeeping and data entry required.
- Experience in government preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Read, analyze and interpret complex documents.
- Respond effectively to sensitive inquiries, complaints.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment with a multitude of requests, interruptions and varied deadlines.
- Must be skilled in meeting and event coordination.
- Accomplish tasks with minimal supervision and with only general directions.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions: - Frequent minimal physical effort typically found in clerical work. Primarily sedentary, may occasionally lift and carry light objects. Walking and/or standing as needed and minimal.
- Frequent e xposure to routine office noise and equipment.
- Occasional exposure to hazards typically found in general office environments where there is rarely to no exposure to injury or accident.
