Description:The
Park Service Specialist is responsible for providing a wide variety of semi-skilled labor to support janitorial duties,operating trucks, heavy equipment like skid steers, backhoes and trailering of equipment, power & hand tools to perform maintenance, restoration and development ofsigns, fences, entry roads and parking lots, picnic areas, campgrounds,public restrooms,and other park amenities. Responsible for vandalism & graffiti mitigation on Jefferson County Open Space (JCOS) parks. Provide training and oversight of seasonal technicians, perform park inspections, snow removal, and public interaction as the first point of contact. Presents ideas, information, recommendations, and solutions to assist supervisors in the final decision making for park maintenance issues.
SCHEDULE:This position has a 4-day work week, 10-hour days (7:00am - 5:30pm), Sunday - Wednesday, and (7:00 am - 5:30 pm), Wednesday - Saturday.
Must have flexibility to work weekends and holidays. The job involves traveling from site to site as needed.
COMPENSATION: Hiring Range: $25.00 - $27.00 USD Hourly
Compensation will be determined based on education, experience, and skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The
Park Services Specialist will beresponsible for:
- Routine trailhead services to include general building and facility janitorial and maintenance duties.
- Maintenance and up-keep of campground facilities and landscaped areas.
- Routine maintenance of parking lot and roadway surface areas, signage, and stormwater management devices.
- Responding to vandalism and graffiti mitigation.
- Performs snow removal activities utilizing hand shovels, vehicle-mounted plows, and heavy equipment.
- Ensure the proficient and safe operation of all vehicles, equipment, stationary, and hand-held power tools.
- Interacting with the public to represent the County and Open Space when in the field.
- Inspecting Park properties and amenities.
- Ranch style fence and gate repairs, maintenance, and construction.
- Works with volunteer groups.
- Work often involves working in, and adapting to, hazardous or inclement weather conditions. Work often occurs on weekends and holidays.

Minimum Qualifications: - One year of work-related experience in maintenance operations or a related field.
- High School Diploma or equivalent certificate.
- Must have current CPR certification or be able to obtain CPR certification within 6 months of date of hire.
- Note an equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
Preferred knowledge, skills and abilities: - Prior janitorial and building maintenance.
- Herbicide applicators licensing or willingness to obtain.
- CDL Class A, or B licensing.
