Full-time position available with the Municipal Court Department, Traffic Violations Bureau Division located at 511 E 11th Street
Salary Range: $18.37-$28.01/hour
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities
- Processes citizens' court payments, cash and bonding company bonds and final judgment/bond forfeiture payments for bonding companies.
- Process appeals for the court and citizens' bond and ticket refund requests.
- Verifies and update citizens' information.
- Processes daily mailed-in payments from citizens.
- Receives citizens' motions by file stamping and attaching them to cases.
- Processes Bond Recognizance forms and Letter of Compliance.
- Obtains the cashier drawer.
- Provides professional customer support in person, by email, and by telephone, using professional techniques to ensure effective customer communication.
- Manages cash transactions, including handling cash registers, balancing, and processing payments, and providies accurate change by utilizing modern office practices, procedures, equipment, and standard clerical techniques to maintain the municipal accounting system and ensure accounts receivable and payable are accurate for the accounting/finance team.
- Handles filings from attorneys and maintains precise case documentation.
- Maintains, organizes, and records information efficiently and accurately for the customers and the court.
- Operates a personal computer proficiently, including multiple databases and Office suite packages to perform various tasks such as bond refunds and email correspondence.
- Distributes the court mails to the concerned department, processes the return mail for the court, and logs it as returned on each case.
- Scans customers' documents into their cases.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIRES high school graduation and 1 year of public or private sector experience in customer service work; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience.

Positions requiring a high school diploma/GED certificate must be obtained from a school/program accredited by the Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained. Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.
If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
