Current vacancies are with the Tulare County Information & Communications Technology Department (TCICT) located in Visalia.
The anticipated life of the list is six monthsTypical Duties Level I/II: - Installs new software releases, system upgrades, performs patch evaluation, installs patches and resolves software related problems on all supported operating systems, database systems, and application software deployed.
- Provides on-going support of systems that ensure the clients' business cycles will not be impacted during upgrades or maintenance.
- Performs system hardware and software installations, updates, modifications, monitoring, diagnosis and problem resolution.
- Assists supervisor with prioritization of work requests, communicating impacts to schedule and costs when exceptions occur.

Minimum QualificationsMinimum qualifications are used as a guide for establishing the education, training, experience, special skills and/or license which are required and equivalent to the following.
Education: - Equivalent to completion of a Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
Equivalency for Education: - IT related experience may be substituted for educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Experience: Level I: - One (1) year of experience as a TCiCT Systems Technician.
Level II: - Two (2) years of experience as a TCiCT Systems Technician.
Equivalencies for Experience: Level I- - Or three (3) years of experience in server administration & email administration in an enterprise environment.
- Or three (3) years of experience in data base administration.
Level II- - Or four (4) years of experience in server administration & email administration in an enterprise environment.
- Or four (4) years of experience in data base administration.
Knowledge of: - Server architecture and hardware integration concepts.
- TCP/IP networking concepts, Directory Services administration and management.
- Enterprise level operating systems administration skills including but not limited to Microsoft Windows and various Linux distributions.
- Security and Business Continuity concepts.
Skill/Ability to: - Work and communicate effectively with people of various education and socioeconomic backgrounds by respecting beliefs, interpersonal styles and behaviors of both clients and co-workers.
- Operate contemporary office equipment inclusive of computer, keyboard, and all applicable electronic equipment.
- Install and configure server from the ground up including operating system installation, hardware, software, & RAID configuration.
- Installation and configuration of email systems.
License or Certificate: - Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid California driver's license.

Paid Holiday Leave: 12 set days and 1 personal holiday

Vacation Accrual: 2 weeks per year (0-3 years of service)
3 weeks per year (3-7 years of service)
4 weeks per year (7-11 years of service)
5 weeks per year (11+ years of service)
Limit of 300 hours.
FLSA exempt employees accrue an additional 5 days of vacation per year.
Sick Leave Accrual: 12 days per year with unlimited accumulation, 60 hours of which may be used toward family sick leave.
Group Term Life Insurance and AD&D: $10,000; Provided by Standard Insurance Company

Disability Insurance: Employees are covered by State Disability Insurance. The premium is paid by the employee.
Deferred Compensation: A voluntary deferred compensation plan is available.
