DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Key Responsibilities:
- Provide GIS data, and other supporting materials using ArcGIS, Infor IPS, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Utilize C.M.S. software to properly compensate vendors for work performed.
- Track contract work order production from issuance to job completion.
- Update and maintain data from the collecting system to guarantee accuracy based on field inspections and information provided for sanitary sewer lines, manholes and other sewer assets.
- Perform specific tasks such as reviewing sanitary sewer and M.A.C.P inspection videos and providing training for new employees as needed.
WORKING CONDITIONS The position occasionally requires stooping or bending. Occasional very light lifting, such as three or four reams of papers or books (up to 20 pounds or an equivalent weight) may be required.
This is a Department of Houston Public Works Emergency Management position at the Tier III Level. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Requires an Associate's degree in Engineering, Drafting, Designing or closely related field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Four (4) years of related experience, such as surveying, engineering, drafting and/or designing are required.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Drafting, Design or a closely related field may be substituted for the education and two years of the experience requirement. Directly related professional experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS May require a valid Driver License and compliance with the City of Houston’s policy on driving (AP 2-2).
PREFERENCESPreference shall be given to individuals with Sanitary sewer maintenance, rehabilitation and a working knowledge of Geographical Information Systems and Construction Management System is a plus.
**Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.**GENERAL INFORMATION SELECTION/SKILLS TESTS REQUIRED: None
