*Subject to Change DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Performs strategic planning for marketing to targeted industries and assigned high-demand occupation business zones.
- Meets goals as outlined in Employment Service Plan(s).
- Initiates and maintains ongoing personal contact with a variety of business and industry representatives as well as job placement/training agencies to promote programs for participant placement.
- Regularly engages in employer site visits, contacting businesses throughout Houston, Harris County to market CRNP and MBK ReDirect Program.
- Identify and engage potential employers; explaining the benefits and employment support services provided by the CRNP and the MBK ReDirect Program.
- Research websites, newspapers, agency postings and other resources for job leads.
- Locate jobs for participants who have successfully completed training programs.
- Collect data from employers related to job orders including job requirements and skills.
- Matching job skills with applicant qualifications; refers qualified applicants to employers and conducts necessary follow-up when applicants are placed in position
- Keep updated regarding job fairs and Internet resources.
- Participate in outreach and recruitment activities by coordinating and attending job fairs.
- Assist in surveying employer satisfaction with current level of service and obtain information about future needs or requests for service improvement.
- Assist participants in assessing their job skills for positions.
- Instruct in job seeking, application procedures, resume writing, interview preparation and job retention.
- Work with participants in preparing job search portfolios.
- Provides job search/career information workshops and presentations.
- Arranges for interviews.
- Provides labor market and community resources information.
- Monitor participant performance on the job and counsel participants if job performance is not satisfactory.
- Work with participants to improve job performance and gain necessary job skills or review other employment options.
- Maintain contact with employers during the participants’ employment and report results to appropriate staff
- Accurately track, input data, and maintain comprehensive case files (physical and electronic) for participants.
- Conduct frequent one-on-one participant and group sessions.
- Support the coordination and facilitation of the Employment Advisory Committee.
- Prepare forms and reports related to placement activities and prepare other reports, as required, for submission.
- Collaborate with the business community for appropriate job placement activities.
WORKING CONDITIONS The position is physically comfortable; the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Requires a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts, Business Administration, or a related field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Four years of professional experience in community organizational work, resource and referral services, or a closely related field are required.
Professional experience related to the type of work to be performed may substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.

PREFERENCES**Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.** - A minimum of three years of experience providing workforce support for justice impacted populations i.e. resume building, soft skills training, interview skills
- A minimum of three years of documented experience with developing partnerships with background-friendly employers.
- A minimum of three years of developing and hosting resource and employment fairs for justice impacted populations.
GENERAL INFORMATION SELECTION/SKILLS TESTS REQUIRED Application review and/or interview. However, the Department may administer a skill assessment evaluation.

Pay Grade 23 SALARY INFORMATION GRANT FUNDED POSITION Grants & Special funded positions are dependent upon continued available funds. If funding is no longer available, employee may be laid off or transferred. Factors used in determining the salary offered include the candidate's qualifications as well as the pay rates of other employees in this classification.
